Sotavento Beach stretches along the southeastern coast of Fuerteventura and is one of the island's most iconic coastal landscapes. Extending for nearly nine kilometres, it is defined by wide golden sands, constant sunshine, and shallow lagoons that form at low tide, creating a vast and open shoreline with a strong sense of space and tranquillity.
The beach is composed of several connected sections and is internationally recognised as one of the best locations in the Canary Islands for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Thanks to its steady winds and protected lagoon areas, Sotavento attracts both beginners and experienced riders, while its long, open beaches also make it ideal for walking, relaxing, and enjoying uninterrupted ocean views.
